First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion
'For Holy Communion to be administered to children, it is required that they have sufficient knowledge and be accurately prepared, so that according to their capacity they understand what the mystery of Christ means, and are able to receive the Body of the Lord with faith and devotion.'
Our First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion programme is for children in school year 3 and above, who live within the parish boundaries of Holy Cross, Parsons Green and participate at Mass with their families every Sunday as committed members of the Catholic community.
Registration forms for the First Holy Communion programme for 2026 will be available in church from Sunday, 21st of September and must be filled and returned latest by the first week of November.
Course Start Date: Sunday, November 30th, 2025. Each session will last about 45 minutes, starting at 10:10 AM following the Family Mass. Please note, that active participation to the Family Mass is required as part of the catechetical programme.
- Number of Sessions: 12 sessions (with breaks for Christmas, Easter and half-term)
- Eligibility: Children in Year 3 or above. Please note that we reserve the right to cap enrolment on a first comes-first served basis.
- There is also a provision to run a monthly evening session for the Parents online. For further info, you may contact Maria via email or meet her after the Family Mass.
IMPORTANT: We seek volunteers to help running the course. The less we have, the smaller will be the number of children we will be able to accept.
We are eager to promote parents' engagement with the programme. If you are interested in supporting the catechetical sessions in the upcoming term, please contact Maria. No previous experience is required.
